Overlooking tidal Store Creek the gardens of Bailey Plantation House provide a choice of unique settings for your special event. Choose the Secret Garden featuring heirloom roses and flowers for an intimate wedding or bridal luncheon. Or, for a larger event, the grounds, shaded by a canopy of moss laden oaks, will provide an elegant backdrop for creating lasting memories.
The old barn, "wishing well" and guest cottage add even more ambiance to this tranquil oasis. From elegant to casual the Bailey Plantation House offers a variety of venues for your special day.
Circuit Judge Sandifer Holmes built the planation house in the early 1800's. He sold the house and property to the Bailey family. The Baileys lived there and ran a general store that was moved to the site from Edingsville Beach. The store that is now listed on the National Register of Historic Properties became the hub of Island life for years.
Ralph and Brenda Morris purchased the property in 1983, restored the home and business property and have lived on Edisto Island since 1988.
